On today's Google homepage were intricately-designed ornaments shaped in the form of eggs. These eggs were apparently used to mark the birthday of
Peter Carl Fabergé, a Russian jeweller who was known for his making of Easter egg-like ornaments using gemstones and precious metals. These ornaments were then named after him and called Fabergé eggs.
